The Universal Christ
The Universal Christ, deep reflection in a small group
Participating in a Universal Christ Reflection Group is an extraordinary experience of insight, prayer, wonder, and Christian community.
These groups are NOT book clubs. The reflection group format provides highly structured ways of deeply reflecting on and sharing in making meaning about readings from Richard Rohr's The Universal Christ. The group is introduced to contemplative prayer in a variety of forms. There is lots of sharing but no interactive conversation or cross-talk. The time spent together is sacred. The groups are led by co-facilitators.
If you wish to participate and can meet the following expectations, register here. (The registration deadline for winter/spring 2024 groups at St. Stephen's has past, but two groups have space available.)
PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS
Each group meets for 8 sessions, has space for 10 participants, and is led by two facilitators. Participants commit to attend ALL sessions and may miss no more than two. Participants have weekly reading assignments of approximately 25-30 pages from Richard Rohr's The Universal Christ. Obtain your own copy of the book. Reflection materials are distributed at each session.
LIMITED spaces are available in the following groups and will be filled on a first-come basis. Once you submit the form, the Rev. John Jenkins will follow up to confirm your registration.
If the spaces have been filled, John will hold your name on a wait list and contact you in the future when the next group forms.
