August 31 is the last day of our summer Sunday worship schedule. Our three-season schedule of Sunday services resumes on Sunday, September 7. Here are some things to note as we transition from summer to a new program year.

September 1: Labor Day, office and buildings closed; no Morning Prayer
September 2: Office re-opens at 8:30 a.m., Morning Prayer resumes, 8:10 a.m.
September 2: Café @ St. Stephen’s goes “cards only” (no cash)
September 4: Opening event hosted by the Women of St. Stephen’s, 5-7 p.m.
September 7: “Rally Day,” when the regular worship schedule resumes, the “soft space” moves back to Palmer Hall, and we roll out “Connect and Serve” (read more here). Note that Sunday formation does not resume September 7 (the Forum and youth Bible study return September 14; Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Many Parents One Vine resume September 21).

  • 8 a.m., Holy Eucharist: Rite One
  • 9 a.m., Holy Eucharist: Rite Two in main church*
  • 9 a.m., Holy Eucharist: Rite Two in Palmer Hall*
  • 10:10-11 a.m., Rally Day gathering in Fellowship Hall with refreshments and information about “Connect and Serve” opportunities; open house in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atria
  • 11:15 a.m., Holy Eucharist: Rite Two* followed by Rally Day reception
  • 5:30 p.m., Celtic Evensong and Communion*
  • 6:30 p.m., Sunday Community Supper
  • 8 p.m., Compline

*Child care available during services with asterisk

September 9: May Fair House resumes regular hours: Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon; Sunday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
September 10: Wonderful Wednesdays suppers resume, 5:45-6:30 p.m.
September 14: Sunday Forum and youth Bible study resume; gathering/orientation for all who plan to serve in Palmer Hall (children and adults)
September 21: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Many Parents One Vine resume
