Annual Bishop’s Visit

About the Event

Each year one of our bishops visits St. Stephen’s Church to celebrate the Holy Eucharist, preach, and confirm youth and adults, receive adults into the Episcopal Church, or reaffirm the baptismal vows for those who desire it.

In 2025, the Rt. Rev. Gayle Harris will be our episcopal visitor. (In this usage, “episcopal,” with a lower case “e,” refers bishops.) She will be present for both the 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services in the main church.

Youth are prepared for the Rite of Confirmation through a program design especially for them. At St. Stephen’s, this process is open to those in grade 9 or above.

Adults are prepared during a class called “Introduction to the Episcopal Church.” You can read more here.
