If you have been at St. Stephen’s Church for awhile, you have likely attended, or at least heard about, our annual Christmas pageant. At various times it’s simply been called that—the Christmas pageant—though it’s also been known as the youth pageant, since for many decades it featured middle and high school students in various roles. Last year, we began including young children in this pageant which takes place on the Fourth Sunday of Advent.

Whatever you call it, though, this year we will mark a milestone: 100 stagings of this pageant! (There have been interruptions at various times, such as during the recent pandemic.) A planning committee is at work on various ways to celebrate this momentous anniversary. We’ll keep you posted through the Spirit (our weekly printed newsletter), the eSpirit (our weekly email newsletter–sign up here), and on this page of our website.

Christmas in July (and August)

In preparation for this occasion, we are eager to hear from you.

The planning group is gathering pageant memories from current and former members of our community to use as part of our celebration. Do you have stories, photos, videos, or clippings to share? Do you have suggestions for others we should contact who no longer attend St. Stephen’s Church? (If you have contact information for them, even better.) This “memories” campaign goes through August 22. We’d love to hear from you. Please use this link to send us your memories.
