About Kate
Kate has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Richmond and Master of Education from the College of William and Mary. A native Virginian, Kate has spent much of her education career in higher education earning another master’s degree and Doctor of Education during her tenure as a university dean.
As a mother of two, Kate turned her attention to early childhood education and has spent the past five years volunteering at her children’s preschool and elementary school in a variety of capacities. Kate believes that early education is key for future success and looks forward to continuing the mission of Dogwood Preschool to encourage creativity, responsibility, marvel, and community. Kate, her husband Lee, and their children Jeb and Lottie are members of St. Stephen’s Church. Their family also includes a spunky black lab named Cassidy.
