Summer Sunday receptionWhile the pace of parish life slows here a bit in the summer, there is still plenty happening at St. Stephen’s Church in June, July, and August.

Our summer schedule begins Sunday, May 25.

8 a.m., Holy Eucharist: Rite One
10 a.m., Holy Eucharist: Rite Two*
5:30 p.m., Celtic Evensong and Communion*
6:30 p.m., Sunday Community Supper
8 p.m., Sung Compline (NOTE: there is no Compline service in June or July, so the last Compline service until August 3 is May 25)

Weekdays, 8:10 a.m., Morning Prayer and Communion (except when the office is closed for a holiday)

All services are livestreamed.

Some summer highlights:

  • A simple reception follows the 10 a.m. service (fellowship, ice water, lemonade). We gather outdoors when the weather permits.
  • The Sunday Community Supper continues throughout the summer; Wednesday suppers do not take place in the summer.
  • There is no Sunday morning formation for children, youth, or adults from May 18 through September 7.
  • The Compline service takes a break in June and July, then resumes the first Sunday in August.
  • While the Palmer Hall service for families with young children takes the summer off, the “soft space” located in Palmer Hall relocates to the Chapel of the Good Shepherd in the main church beginning May 25.
  • The nursery for babies and toddlers is open during the 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. services throughout the summer.
  • The Farmers Market @ St. Stephen’s is open every Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon.
  • The May Fair House is open on Saturdays only during the summer, 9 a.m.-noon.

The parish office is closed on the following holidays:

  • Monday, May 26: Memorial Day
  • Thursday, June 19: Juneteenth
  • Friday, July 4: Independence Day
  • Monday, September 1: Labor Day

When the parish office is closed for a holiday, there are no meetings, events, or Morning Prayer. When we are closed on a Monday, our food pantry distribution moves to Tuesday of the affected week., 1 to 3 p.m.
